Lucem V2 is submitted under Cardano Open: Developers, a track that supports open-source technology designed to improve the developer experience on Cardano. This category funds technical proposals such as SDKs, developer tooling, and interoperability solutions.

The upgrade focuses on three priorities:

• Stability — fixing bugs, improving reliability, and strengthening the wallet’s performance across devices.

• Simplicity — refining the interface and user flows so new users can navigate the wallet more easily.

• Security — expanding support for hardware wallets (Ledger now, with more devices planned).

Development will follow a milestone-based structure. Work begins with stability fixes and core architecture improvements, followed by UI refinements and hardware wallet integrations. Each milestone will be tested and verified before release, with updates provided to the community as progress is made

For new users, Lucem V2 lowers the barrier to entry with a cleaner, more intuitive interface. For experienced users, stability improvements reduce transaction errors and improve reliability. For security-focused users, hardware wallet integration adds protection without sacrificing simplicity.

All code and assets will remain open source. Development progress will be documented publicly, with milestone evidence shared for community review. This ensures accountability at each stage of the project and aligns with Catalyst’s requirements for verifiable deliverables.

If approved, the team will immediately begin development work. The first milestone will focus on stability and performance fixes. Subsequent milestones will add hardware wallet integration and user interface improvements. The final release will be made available to the Cardano community free of charge.
